Mission
Cedarcroft School strives to instill a love of learning and a willingness to explore new ideas in a safe, nurturing and fun environment. We assist our students in establishing desirable habits, attitudes, skills and good manners. Children are grouped in a developmentally appropriate manner according to their abilities and not necessarily by chronological age.
Our developmentally appropriate curriculum promotes an appreciation of knowledge, art and culture. Exposure to music, poetry, art, literature, math, reading, science and social studies enriches a child’s knowledge and develops an understanding of the world that will prove invaluable in later education. The children go on field trips to local places of interest during the school year to add adventure and supplement subjects studied at school. Destinations include Fort McHenry, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Irvine Nature Center, the Fire Museum of Maryland, the B&O Railroad Museum and other destinations.
